I joined the SGA because I was inspired by the commitment of my peers to the betterment of the Middlebury community, so I decided that, having a strong love for Middlebury myself, I wanted to be a part of that effort. My overall goal in the SGA is to make this campus a more cohesive unit so that all students can maximize their time at Middlebury. In response to our current digital world, I'm focused on increasing the number of online academic resources available to students and fostering community interaction by creating more online, real time events. On campus, I'm also interested in bridging the gap between athletics and the arts, preserving the learning & living environment given the loss of the Commons system, addressing adherence to the Honor Code, diversifying the curriculum, and improving conditions for underrepresented groups.

I had always assumed college was just another steppingstone to prepare me for the real world, that these four years were simply a means to an end. But, like many of my peers, I've quickly come to the realization that in addition to my academic studies, a large portion of my learning is happening outside of the classroom through personal growth. I've learned the importance and value of having support networks and communities while navigating young adulthood. Joining SGA has given me an opportunity to actively contribute to a collaborative leadership body, specifically in regard to increasing inclusion in student programs and bridging the relationships between policies and student life. Now knowing just how formative our college years are, I'm looking forward to learning firsthand about my peer's Midd experiences to enact reform that will further enrich the four years we have together.
